tantalus drive, oahu wedding- leanne & sasha

Jon dreams of owning a 21 window Volkswagen bus just like this one. Someday Santa is going to surprise him. I have faith in that. This post is for my Mom who requested “eye candy” for Christmas. And for Sal the lucky owner of this 21 window beauty,  who has been dying to see photos of his baby up on Tantalus Drive. And it’s for sweet Leanne & Sasha who are away from their families this Christmas. They are wrapping up their mega honeymoon abroad, apparently it’s totally normal for Australians to take 6 weeks for their honeymoon. I think that makes them the smartest people on the planet. We ended our Christmas Eve with Jon’s family playing their ukuleles and singing completely off key to “Mele Kalikimaka” and “Jingle Bells”. That’s all I needed for Christmas. Well, that and another week on Kauai (I’ve been really good). Peace & Love & Be Merry!

Oahu, Hawaii Wedding

We are thrilled to have this wedding featured on A Practical Wedding. This was one of our favorites of the year because 1.) We love shooting on beautiful Oahu since we have family there.  2.)  The bride and groom are adorable and so darn perfect together. And 3.) We will be returning to Oahu for two more weddings at the Ocean Front Oasis Estate this year!

Happy Anniversary Kayce & Matty! Thanks for asking us to capture your special day! We loved every minute!

Westchester, New York Wedding

This was our first Persian ceremony and we loved all the symbolism involved. The low table is called the “Sofreh Aghd”, translated “the marriage spread”, and was set with items that represent the couple’s relationship and their future. One of my favorite things on the table was a bowl filled with pomegranates that represented the gifts from heaven. I also loved the cup of honey that stood for the sweetness of life. During the ceremony the bridesmaids held a cloth over the couple while taking turns rubbing sugar cones over the cloth as if to “shower them with sweetness.” To end the ceremony, Dorna and Maulin dipped their fingers in the honey and fed one another. Such sweetness all around!

We started the day with photos at the historic Washington Irving’s Sunnyside Home overlooking the Hudson River. The ceremony and reception were at the lovely Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, New York.
